Coming from Wicklow in Ireland, Andrew is a geologist and natural resources management specialist with 15 years’ experience in project management and administration in Switzerland, Mexico, Ireland, China and Afghanistan. He is currently engaged as Country Programme Manager with UNEP in Afghanistan on government development cooperation program. This program consists of working with Afghan and international partners to create and operate best-practice models for environmental management in the country. On a practical level this work involves staff training and management coaching activities, but also a strong emphasis on building networks and partnerships for environment that will last into the future. This ensures better conservation and environmental protection for man as well as for nature in the country.
